Technology scholarship for undergraduate and master's students

Connect your degree studies to a technology project with a clear question and a useful result.

The university route is being prepared for bachelor's and master's students. Computer science, software engineering and information technology projects are natural starting points, while the final rules will define eligible fields of study.

Undergraduate and master's routes

Undergraduate project

Focus on a bounded problem you can explain and test. A feature prototype, a comparison of technical approaches or a useful software workflow can provide a starting point.

Master's project

Define the question behind the work and the evidence needed to answer it. Explain the baseline, your method and the result that would change your conclusion.

Choose a question you can evaluate

  • Compare an AI feature with a non-AI approach using the same task and data.
  • Examine a software system's reliability under a defined failure condition.
  • Prototype a FinTech workflow using synthetic transactions.
  • Investigate an accessibility problem in a digital health service using public or sample information.

These are preparation examples, not prescribed competition tasks or final submission requirements.

Make the proposal readable outside your course

Start with the problem and the people affected. Explain the technical approach after the reader understands why the work matters. A small project with a credible test is easier to evaluate than a large concept without a method.

Identify your contribution if the idea comes from group coursework, a dissertation team or an existing project. Keep references and a record of any AI assistance you use.

Enrollment details to check before applying

The final rules will address current and incoming students, part-time and distance study, transfer students and proof of enrollment. Until those rules are published, a study format should not be assumed eligible.

The proposed university and vocational routes share one student award category. A degree route is an application route, not an offer to fund an entire degree or a separate scholarship for each university.

Already working toward a PhD?

Use the research award page to explore the planned doctoral route. It is structured around a defined research project and its costs, with different preparation needs from the student route.

Answers about the planned scholarship and its preparation resources.

  • Can international university students prepare a proposal?

Yes. The program is being planned for learners worldwide.

Qualification, enrollment and payment requirements will be set out in the announced round.

  • Are online and part-time students eligible?

Those conditions have not been confirmed. Check the published rules before preparing an application around a particular study format.

  • Can I receive both a vocational and a university award?

The proposed routes share a student award category. The final rules will specify limits on multiple applications and awards.
