A program being developed by Pharos Production

Program in preparation

Pharos Global Technology Scholarship

A technology scholarship in preparation for learners worldwide, from high school to doctoral research.

Pharos Production is developing a scholarship program around practical software ideas and technology research. Find the education track that matches your qualification and start shaping a project you can explain clearly.

Find your education track

Use your qualification level to choose a route. Schools, colleges and universities use different names across countries, so the qualification matters more than the institution's name.

What could your project explore?

Software that solves a local problem

Design an accessible service, improve a repetitive task or make useful information easier to find. Explain who would use it and what would change.

AI with a testable purpose

Investigate an AI feature against a simpler alternative. Think about the data you would need, the mistakes it could make and how you would evaluate its output.

Blockchain and distributed systems

Explore a record, identity or coordination problem. Explain why a shared system could help and when a conventional database would work better.

FinTech and digital health

Study a financial or healthcare workflow through a software project. Use public examples or synthetic data when exploring information about people.

Awards and application dates

Award amounts, the number of recipients and application dates have not been announced. The first round will need published rules that explain eligibility, judging and payment arrangements.

An external scholarship provides support from an organization outside your school or university. It does not itself provide admission, a university place or a visa. The planned PhD route is a research-project award; it is not an offer to fund an entire doctorate.

Start with a project idea

A short outline is enough to start planning. You can develop it further when the submission requirements are available.

  • Describe the problem in terms a reader outside your subject can understand.
  • Identify the people who would benefit and the current way they handle it.
  • Sketch your technical approach and one alternative.
  • Decide what evidence would show that your idea is useful.
