Key takeaways: QA and Testing 5

Professional QA catches defects before your users do and reduces post-release bug costs by up to 10x. Here is what to expect from a structured testing engagement.

  • Automate Regression Tests First Start by automating your most frequently run regression tests - this alone reduces manual testing time by 60-70% and catches regressions within minutes instead of days.
  • Target 80%+ Test Coverage Projects with 80%+ automated test coverage release 2-3x faster with 50% fewer production bugs compared to projects relying primarily on manual QA.
  • Load Test Before Every Launch Performance testing should simulate 2-3x your expected peak load - production failures from untested traffic spikes cost 10-50x more than pre-launch load testing.
  • Budget $5K-$15K per Month A dedicated QA engineer embedded in your team costs $5,000-$8,000 per month. Full QA teams (manual + automation + performance) range from $10,000-$15,000 per month.
  • Integrate QA into CI/CD Automated tests running in CI/CD pipelines catch 90% of regressions before code reaches staging - shifting quality left saves weeks of manual testing per release.

An approach to the development cycle

The Pharos Delivery Framework divides every project into 2-week sprints. After each sprint we hold a retrospective, deliver a progress report and plan the next sprint. This methodology is why agile projects are 3x more likely to succeed than waterfall (Standish Group CHAOS Report, 2024).
  1. Team Assembly

Our company starts and assembles an entire project specialists with the perfect blend of skills and experience to start the work.

  2. MVP

We’ll design, build and launch your MVP, ensuring it meets the core requirements of your software solution.

  3. Production

We’ll create a complete software solution that is custom-made to meet your exact specifications.

  4. Ongoing

    Continuous Support

Our company will be right there with you, keeping your software solution running smoothly, fixing issues and rolling out updates.

QA and Testing Services Glossary 7

Test Pyramid
A layered QA strategy that prioritizes a large base of fast unit tests, a mid-layer of service-level API tests and a smaller top layer of slower end-to-end UI tests to keep feedback loops short.
Flaky Test
An automated test that produces inconsistent pass or fail results across identical builds, usually caused by timing dependencies, shared test state or non-deterministic external calls that must be mocked or quarantined.
Visual Regression Testing
A technique that captures pixel-level screenshots of UI components after each build and diffs them against baseline images to detect unintended layout or style changes without manual inspection.
Contract Testing
An approach where the consumer of an API specifies an expected response contract (using tools like Pact) and the provider is verified independently against that contract, catching integration breaks before end-to-end tests run.
Shift-Left Security Testing
The practice of running SAST scanners, dependency audits and secret-detection checks inside the CI pipeline at the earliest possible stage rather than waiting for a dedicated security review phase.
Performance Baseline
A recorded set of latency, throughput and error-rate metrics captured under a fixed load profile that future builds are automatically compared against to detect performance regressions before production.
Headless Browser Testing
Automated UI tests executed by a browser engine (Chromium via Playwright or Cypress) without rendering a visible window, enabling fast parallel test runs on CI infrastructure without a display server.

Frequently asked questions about QA and Testing Services

Last updated:

  • Copy link Copies a direct link to this answer to your clipboard.

A dedicated QA engineer costs $5,000-$8,000 per month. Automated test suite development (framework setup, test creation, CI/CD integration) ranges from $20,000-$60,000 as a one-time project.

Independent QA audits for release validation start at $10,000 per engagement. Performance and security testing packages range from $15,000-$40,000.

Test framework setup and initial suite creation takes 3-4 weeks. Comprehensive test coverage (unit, integration, E2E, API tests) for an existing application typically requires 6-10 weeks.

After the initial setup, ongoing test maintenance and expansion is handled by a dedicated QA engineer as part of your development sprints.

  • Copy link Copies a direct link to this answer to your clipboard.

We use Selenium and Playwright for web E2E testing, Cypress for component and integration testing, Appium for mobile testing, Jest and Vitest for unit testing, k6 and Artillery for load testing and OWASP ZAP for security testing. Tool selection depends on your tech stack, existing test infrastructure and team expertise.

We follow a risk-based testing approach: identify critical user paths, prioritize test coverage by business impact, automate regression suites, integrate into CI/CD and continuously expand coverage. Every sprint includes test planning, execution, defect triage and coverage reporting.

We use Jira and TestRail for test management.

Both. Dedicated QA teams work as an extension of your development process - attending standups, writing tests during sprints and managing test infrastructure.

Independent QA audits are one-time engagements where we review your application, execute comprehensive test plans and deliver a detailed quality report with prioritized findings.
