The goal is to build a portable identity layer that enables users to demonstrate compliance once and then reuse their verified credentials across platforms.

  • Core Backend Technologies Powering Kimlic

    The backend is built with Elixir and Erlang to provide a highly reliable, fault-tolerant foundation for identity workflows, verification logic and API services. Event-driven communication and state changes are handled through scalable messaging patterns, while real-time processing ensures immediate, consistent updates to identity status. Deployed on AWS and Kubernetes with PostgreSQL as the primary data store, the platform is supported by a modern NextJS frontend and fully automated infrastructure managed with Terraform.

  • Frontend and User Interfaces

    Kimlic features a modern frontend built with React and Next.js for both users and business clients. Users can manage their verified identities and consents through a secure web interface, while businesses can access dashboards and APIs to request and validate KYC proofs.

  • Data, Infrastructure and Integrations

    PostgreSQL stores identity metadata, verification states and audit logs at scale. All components are deployed on Kubernetes and hosted on AWS to ensure high availability, scalability and fault tolerance.
